Did the US Recovery Bureau Train the St. Guillen Murder Suspect?

7/2/08- Updated news in reference to US Recovery Bureau owners being arrested.

Well, I'm back after spending a week in Daytona Beach for Bike Week getting some much needed time away.  Yes, bounty hunters need a vacation too.

I received a rather disturbing email this morning from a BondForfeitures.com visitor concerning the United States Recovery Bureau (USRB) and its possible relationship to the Imette St. Guillen murder.  This visitor originally wrote me the following question concerning the legitimacy of the US Recovery Bureau:

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
T1:          Tom M.
T2:          [redacted]
T3:          Thornwood N.Y.

All I would like to ask you is the U.S. Recovery Bureau course legit? I'm considering the site in Brooklyn, but I don't want to walk out of the place $900 short ($845 to be exact) and have no job. It all just seems too good to be true. I understand I will have to pay more with clothing, but that goes with the territory. I don't care about that.

To which I simply replied:

For a real eye opener go to: http://www.fugitiverecovery.com/forum/ and do a search on "USRB"

I think you'll get the point rather quickly- they are not very highly regarded by many in the industry.

I then received the following email this morning:

T1:          Tom M.
T2:          [redacted]
T3:          Thornwood New York

Thank you for the input on the U.S. Recovery Bureau. Ironically, I'm not sure if you heard about the Imette St. Guillen murder investigation that has taken N.Y. by surprise, but the man that is being questioned and held on her sickly murder, actually attended the Passaic branch. I don't think the U.S. Recovery Bureau will be in business long. You see, they gave this guy a badge jacket and the whole 9 yards, except of course--- a job! In addition, he is being questioned for a string of rapes in Queens, where a man dressed as a Marshal attacked his victims. Unbelievable. Thank you for saving me a thousand dollars!

Wow... this is terrible news.

My question to you, Dear Reader, is this:  Is there any corroborating evidence supporting the relationship of Darryl Littlejohn to the USRB (US Recovery Bureau)?  I did read today that police found bail enforcement clothing and other fugitive recovery agent identification in their search of his home and automobile.

My gut feeling is that they did let Littlejohn into their class without so much caring who he was... just that he had $900.  In doing so, they may have taught him some techniques that allowed Darryl Littlejohn to subdue Ms. Imette St. Guillen more efficiently.  I do not however have anything other than this that supports the email writer's assertion.

Darryl Littlejohn is a 7 time felon currently on probation for Armed Bank Robbery!  If he did actually attend, why was he allowed into their class???

This would just support my theory concerning additional unethical business practices concerning this bail enforcement training provider and it makes me sick.  More than ever we need a single, unifying national bail enforcement association to step up and propose a training and ethics standard that bounty hunter schools should adhere to rather than trying to SCAM people out of their money.  The unscrupulous providers are generating half-cocked; uninformed; and ignorant graduates at the expense of the bail enforcement industry.  As long as we continue to allow the media to make an example out of our profession we will continue to bear the brunt of a blood thirsty media.

I did notice that the USRB website is currently down.  Hmmm...

As usual, I appreciate any feedback or additional information you might have on the subject at hand.

Dear sir,
my dad is a Bounty hunter, and he took a class with a man names William zamott. I think that is how it is spelled a few months ago my dad saw him in the news paper and he was arrested for selling drugs it was a big arrest . it was a big page, it was in the one of the big papers. my dad also said he was very friendly with an agent there named kaled Saab. Who is the president of a motorcycle club. The USRB makes all hunters look bad. Also channel 9 news in New York just went there and told them they shouldn't be giving out the badges they did my dad almost got arrested for having it. What can be don't about them. I don't want to give my dads name of my last name because I don't want them to know who wrote this.
thank you,
a proud daughter

PLEASE RESPOND TO ME AS SOON AS POSSIBLE IF THIS IS A SCAM AM GOING TO MAKE SURE THEY DONT STEEL ANY BODY ELSE MONEY, THEY SHOULD NOT BE TEACHING AND THE SCHOOL SHOULD BE CLOSED
I FEEL THAT I LOST MY MONEY
1,150.00 DOWN THE DRAIN.
THANK YOU. JOHN

i thank you for bringing and investigating the information on the us recovery bureau.

it is sad that i was not avaliable to receive this information eariler this year.i also found out that they are still in business and have changed there name.

my whole point of concern is,is there an accredited acadamey that is legimate/certified true school (that meets a bail industry or commision standard) that you can attend to learn real hands on training and when graduated knowing you have the backing or support of an agency to verifiy that you are who you say you are without having to be placed in jail for impersonation of an officer.

thank you for your reply, time and hard work in ensuring that there is still faith in picking out the "bad apples" on the tree of sucess

I have researched becoming a Bail Agent numerous times. I was interested in the us recovery bureau school in N.J, but I am now weary. Please educate me as to where I can train for this profession. I currently reside in Florida

A whois look up
Legally required per CFR
and public info:
I would direct your law firm to this man.

always research an investment like this.

typically the administrative contact is not also the technical contact i.e. the guy who manages the web site.

To the above comment. NO you are not "certified" in all 50 states. I reside in Illinois, where the Bail Bonding, and Recovery of wanted bail bond fugitives in this state is ILLEGAL! I am involved with law enforcement on a part time basis, and have heard about FRA's, BEA's or what evere title you use being arrested for kidnapping in this state. I would see if you can get your money back, or look into a school that knows what they are taliking about.

Can the people that took the us recovery classes sue.. I think they should get some reinbursment

Hey Everyone,

I am starting a class action lawsuit against Mr. Rios and the Bureau. I am a graduate of the school in 2005. Please visit the website and sign the guestbook if you'd like to be included in the lawsuit.
