Welcome. How boring is that?

For those of you who might know me or maybe even heard of me, I am Scott Harrell.  Not many of you will get the reference in the title of my blog, "EL Scott Harrell," so I am going to explain because it sets the tone for the rest of my web log:

First, it is a nod to the initial of my first name "L" for Leonard.  Yes... Leonard.  If you were named Leonard as a child growing up in the 70s I feel your pain- especially if you were Caucasian; mercifully, my parents just called me Scott.  Most often I refer to myself professionally as "L. Scott Harrell" because there are a few others out their sharing the same name and I want to save them the agony that often comes along with being me.

Lastly, the Spanish language modifier "El" when added to a noun is meant to give the connotation that whatever follows is in the superlative, meaning "most."  In English we would say "biggest" to refer to the "most big" while in Spanish, they will say "El grande."  It's a tongue-in-cheek poke at my ego but moreover, it is a satisfying multi-lingual pun as well.

Agony and ego with a slice of humor served up on the side... this is the reason I am here dear reader; if you cannot keep up there are other websites and blogs which you may have an easier time digesting.

I have broken this blog down into several components for ease of use and handling.  The busiest category here will undoubtedly be "Voodoo Hex of the Moment," which is where I intend to lambaste people, the news, and whatever other grain of sand creeps into my craw which compels me to wish harmful things on people.  Voodoo hexes for stupid people.  If you believe in that kind of stuff.

I am a private investigator and do most of my work in the bail enforcement industry.  Some people often refer to me as a bounty hunter but that is a terrible misnomer really.  If you care to understand why, standby and I will explain in another post.

Yes, I know who Duane Chapman is... no, I do not know where you can buy a pair of Leland's panties.  Lots more on the "media hound" (my code name for Duane "Dog" Chapman) later- I promise.  Many voodoo hexes for the media hound.

I'll post much about being a bounty hunter and include you in some case files as they unfold too; this is the source of most of the angst and joy in life.  It would be only appropriate for me to foist that onto you as well.

Enough of the "Welcome to my Blog... blah blah blah."  We'll just let the rest speak for itself.

Hi, Scott. I'm interested in getting into the fugitive recovery business and I found your pro site. Heck, I'll probably even take your course.

I just wanted to say 1) I'm glad you're blogging... it's easier than constantly updating a website, and 2) I disagree with the Texas law that pretty much nullifies the Supreme Ct decision in Taylor vs. Taintor.

I've only heard of the "media hound"; I've not seen his show. I'm in the DFW area, so maybe I'll run into you some time...
